Hot Chelle Rae is a great band with a sound that makes you want to get up and dance. I have loved their song “Tonight Tonight” ever since the first time I heard it. It’s catchy, fun, and full of surprises. As a musician myself, I could definitely see me or my friends buying the sheetmusic for this song to play when we are not jamming out our original tunes.

This song has a great pop-rock sound and fun lyrics. Anyone can sing along with “La la la, whatever” or laugh at the misfortune of waking up with a tattoo and not being sure how it got there. It makes me feel like no matter what happens, getting out and having a good time will make it all better. I get the feeling from this song that even if I’m down in the dumps, I can just ‘fake it’ and eventually I’ll be having a good time for real.
This song appeals to a wide range of people and musical tastes. It is no wonder that this tune was one of the hits of 2011. This band has been around since 2005, so it is about time they had their first hit.  It is inspiration to many musicians that hard work will eventually get you somewhere.

As a musician, playing other people’s music can lead to inspiration in creating your own songs. This song does not have a complicated construction, making it easy to learn, either by rote or by reading the sheet music. It is an excellent example of a song not needing to be deep or necessarily thought provoking to be fantastic. It just has to be fun.  Since it is such a popular song, cover bands will get great reception from their audience when playing this tune.
